Applications are invited from Indian Citizens both male and female, who have passed their final MBBS examination in first or second attempt and completed internship for grant of Short Sergice Commission in the Army Medical Corps. Applicants who have taken more than two chances in final MBBS need not apply.

- Qualification: The applicant must possess medical qualification included in First/ Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule of IMC Act 1956. The applicant must have permanent registration from any State Medical Council/ MCI. Post Graduate degree holders i.e. MD/MS/ MCh/DM may also apply. PG Degree in following subjects will be given preference:
- Anaesthesia
- Surgery
- Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Medicine
- Orthopedics
- Respiratory Medicine
Age : must not have attained 45 years of age on 31st Dec 2010.
Pay Band : PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 + Grade pay Rs.6100 + Military Service Pay (MSP) Rs.6000 + NPA @25% of Basic+Grade Pay+MSP and other
Method of Selection : Eligible candidates will be called for interview by a Board of officers by a Board of Officers in the month of April 2010 at Army Hospital (Research & Referral) New Delhi, Near Daula Kuan, Delhi Cantt.
Tenure : The tenure is of 5 years extendable by another 5 years (total SSC tenure 10 years) for those who are willing to continue subject to laid down eligibility criteria.
Fee : One DD of Rs.200/- payable at New Delhi in favour of “Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (APF Fund)”
