Job description: The selected candidate will have to build and lead a group in the area of membrane and polymer applications to harness more effectively the Institute’s S&T capabilities in this area. Understanding of customer needs and devising innovative solutions will be a key component of this job. The candidate will have to work in close coordination with the membrane science and engineering groups to evolve new technology platforms. Garnering project funds, man management and technology licensing would be additional responsibilities.
Essential Educational Qualification and Experience: Ph. D in Polymer/Membrane Science with minimum 10 years of additional research experience in polymer materials, of which at least 5 years must be in a leadership role. Deep scientific insight and flair for innovation are essential and candidate must provide evidence of independent research publications and technology development based on fundamental principles.
Desirable: Experience in an industrial research outfit is desirable.
