The Union Public Service commission (UPSC) will hold the Indian Economic Service (IES)/ Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Examination commencing from 04th December 2010 for recruitment to Grade IV of the Indian Economic Service (IES) and Indian Statistical Service (ISS). The examination will be held at various centres across the country.
Conditions of Elgibility
(A) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:
- Age Limit : Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st January, 2010. Relaxation in the upper age limit as per Govt. of India rules.
(B) Educational Qualifications:
- A candidate for the Indian Economic Service (IES) must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economis/ Business Economics/ Econometrics and candidate for the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics / Applied Statistics from a recognised University.
(C) Physical Standards: candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for Indian Economic Service / Indian Statistical Servicce Examination, 2010 as prescribed in the detailed advertisement.
Application form: The candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the commission for its examination, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Ooffices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/-
Fee : Rs. 100/- through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of fees. OBC candidates are required to pay full fees.
How to apply – All applications must reach the “Secretary, Union Public Service commission, Dholpur house, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi – 110069” either by hand or by Post/Speed Post only or by courier, on or before 5th July 2010.
For candidates of far-flung areas and abroad the last date is 12th July, 2010.

Age : Not less than 20 years and not more than 25 years as on 1st August, 2010. The upper age is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.

UPSC Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) (II), 2010 Including SSC (Women Non-Technical) Course
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) (II), 2010 on 19th September, 2010 for admission to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy amd Air force Academy for the Cources commencing in July, 2011 and Officers Training academy, Chennai for the cources (Men and Women) commencing in October, 2011.
Conditions of Eligibility
- For Indian Millitary Academy : Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1987 and not later than 1st July 1992 only are eligible.
- For Naval Academy : Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1989 (2nd July, 1987 in case of NCC Naval wing ‘C’ certificate holders) and not later than 1st July 1992 only are eligible.
- For Air Force Academy : Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1988 and not later than 1st July 1992 only are eligible.
- For Officers’ Training Academy – (SSC Course for Men) : Male candidates (Unmarried or Married) born not earlier than 2nd July, 1986and not later than 1st July 1992 only are eligible.
- For Officers Training Academy – SSC (Women Non- Technical) Course :
(a) Unmarried Women, issueless widows who have not remarried, and issueless divercees (in possession of diveorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been not earlier than 2nd July, 1986 and not later than 1st July, 1992.
(B) Educational Qualifications:
- For Indian Millitary Academy and Officers’ Training Academy : Degree of a recognised university or equivalent.
- For Naval Academy : B.Sc. (with Physics & Mathematics ) or Bachelor of Engineering.
- For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognised university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
